The money matters, but the signal matters more. Hundreds of citizen investors, a public institution and a group of business angels chose to put capital behind coastal ecosystem restoration. Not as philanthropy, as an investment.
Hundreds of citizen investors backed us through Lita, Bpifrance came in alongside them, and a collective of business angels and individual investors completed the round. They chose to put capital behind coastal ecosystem restoration. Not as philanthropy, as an investment.
That is what this round is really about. It funds the scaling of our model: more science, more technology, more capacity on the ground, and the rigour that makes restoration measurable, auditable and deliverable. Because rigour is exactly what institutional investors and large companies need before they treat nature restoration as a serious asset, and before they finance it at the scale the problem demands.
Our flagship project, BlueRizon, will restore more than 4,000 hectares of mangroves on the north coast of Java. Its official launch is coming soon.
Apolownia develops high-integrity blue carbon projects, restoring mangrove ecosystems that remove carbon while protecting coastlines and communities.
